Our Fiscal Year 2023 proved to be another extraordinary year as we addressed health equity, social justice and the economic inequities impacting the communities we serve. This year’s report, Beacon of Hope: Championing Health Equity and Social Justice highlights some of our efforts as we strive to address health equity and social justice. Having overcome the challenges of the past and successfully meeting those of the present, the Whittier Street Health Center (WSHC) team and our cross-sector partners are forging ahead with determination and a deep commitment to serve. In the midst of lingering economic, social and health care issues, our patients and the communities we serve continue to experience significant physical and psychological barriers to health and economic equity. These combined factors and negative impacts highlight the need for innovative, high-quality community-based health care and social services delivery.
With your support, WSHC will expand and strengthen the foundation of its proactive service delivery model. Without our friends, partners and community, the last three years of the pandemic would have been a much darker time for our vulnerable communities, and we would not be ending 2023 with nearly as much optimism and hope that Together, We Can Achieve Health Equity.
