Project partners and supporters of the NextBridge East-West Tie Line Transmission Project today celebrated the beginning of the long-awaited construction project. NextBridge has been working closely with Indigenous communities, municipalities, landowners, community members and businesses over the past six years to see this essential $777-million electrical infrastructure project through to construction.
Queen's University research projects receive funding
Seven Queen’s University research projects shared $930,000 in provincial funding. The funding for the projects was announced by Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark. Five of the projects are through the Ontario Research Fund – Research Infrastructure program and two are through the Early Researcher Awards.

Eroding shorelines, deteriorating docks and flooded basements, three things that many people living along the shores of the St. Lawrence River have endured for decades. Many residents of eastern Ontario say over the past three years it’s gotten worse, and they say they know why.
