The 18th Ontario Consulting Engineering Awards (OCEA) call for submissions is now open.
We invite our member firms to showcase their engineering efforts by entering projects they have worked on over the year.The OCEA program highlights the importance of the consulting engineering profession by awarding the most outstanding projects submitted. The winners and finalists will be announced at our OCEA Gala on May 1, 2019.
CEO held its annual general meeting on September 13, 2019 at Blue Springs Golf Club, announcing changes to the Board of Directors that will oversee the organization for the upcoming governance year.
Christine Hill, will serve as Board Chair for a second year running. Hill was Chair-Elect when the previous Chairman, Jeremy Carkner, had to step-down last November leading to Hill serving as Chair for the remainder of the term. Rex Meadley, will continue on the Board as Past Chair.
Engineers Canada Sustainability in Practice online course
Engineers Canada and Polytechnique Montréal have once again teamed up to offer the third edition of their successful free online course, Sustainability in Practice.
The massive open online course uses real-life case studies from across Canada to demonstrate the practical application of Engineers Canada’s 10 guidelines on sustainable development and environmental stewardship for engineers. The course is delivered in four modules and is offered in both English and French.
The course begins October 16, 2019. Participants have until December 13, 2019, to complete the online course at their own pace. Registration closes on November 12, 2019. An optional Certificate of Completion is available following successful completion of the course at a cost of $75 CAN.

The Workshop is delivered over one and a half days, in four modules during October 21-22, 2019. The modules will provide you with the background you need to understand the Class EA process, will walk you through the process, and will reinforce the learning process with practical exercises, followed by case studies.

MEA is hosting their 60th Annual Fall Workshop and AGM on November 26-29, 2019 at Blue Mountain Resort.
