Remember, though the holiday season is meant to be joyous and magical, it can oftentimes become overwhelming and stressful. Please take this as a reminder to be kind to yourself and practice some self-care. If you are a caregiver, below you can find some helpful tips to manage the holiday stress this season.

The IPHA division is a recognized national and international leader in health and community-based research and education. The division’s success is attributed to strong, collaborative partnerships with Indigenous communities. Through culturally- and contextually - relevant research and knowledge translation, we are able to respond to community needs through the development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula and resources.

The purpose of this session is to present a study that explores the experiences of moral distress during the pandemic for long-term care home staff of nurses and personal support workers in northern Ontario, the subsequent impacts on their mental health as well as their resilience and adaptation.

Caring Connections Chronicle...

Snow Angels is a program that matches volunteers with seniors in our community to assist with snow removal from paths, walkways and stairs. The program, originally created by Age Friendly Thunder Bay, is now hosted by the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre. We are looking for able-bodied volunteers 16 and older to join our team! Get your holiday baking taken care of at the Hospice Northwest Services' Holiday Bake Sale. This event will be held at the St. Joseph's Heritage in the Main Lobby from 12 pm - 3 pm.
