January is Alzheimer's Awareness Month
Each January, the Alzheimer Society supports and leads Canada's Alzheimer's Awareness Month. Awareness is the first step to fighting stigma, reinforcing human rights and pushing for policy change.
This year's theme focuses on how the Alzheimer Society is the First Link® to Support, Community, Knowledge and Expertise.
First Link® is the Alzheimer Society program offering approved services and information to those living with Alzheimer’s or other dementias, and caregivers.

You don’t want to miss this workshop dedicated to understanding and navigating the intricate aspects of Medical Assistance in Dying. This event is specifically designed for health and social care providers who are looking to deepen their knowledge and skills in this sensitive area. If so, you may be eligible to become a Pallium Certified LEAP Facilitator and attend CERAH's free in-person LEAP Facilitator Training.

CERAH has been coordinating and delivering Pallium Canada's Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care (LEAP) courses for over 15 years. We are looking for more facilitators to help grow capacity to advocate for, and support, better palliative care in our communities. Additionally, if teaching is not part of your role that can be supported by your organization, renumeration is provided.

How mood disorder can impact risk of developing dementia, and its diagnosis, and risk of depression in those with existing cognitive disorder. Latest Episode: Simon Malbogat & Catherine Frid
In this episode, Kathy and Keri have an enthralling conversation with Catherine and Simon, the playwright and director “Two-Sided Mirror,” an interactive play that follows a family whose member is considering MAiD. Through the viewpoints of each family member, the realities of MAiD and its implications are explored. The interactive element of the play allows for audience members to find new ways to navigate these challenging circumstances, should they arise.
