Join us for complimentary coffee, tea, and treats three Sundays a month from 2-4 pm. COVID-19 screening and masks are required.

Pallium Canada has launched a free online course that provides much-needed support to caregivers. Caregiving is a role that most people are thrust into with little to no preparation or training. Indigenous Cognition & Aging Awareness Research Exchange (I-CAARE): The team at I-CAARE has been developing culturally safe factsheets with Indigenous people living with memory loss and their caregivers since 2014, based on a need identified in an earlier project, Perceptions of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias among Aboriginal people in Ontario.
These factsheets were originally designed with a broad audience in mind - from coast to coast in Canada. We recognize that individual communities and nations may have unique perspectives and needs surrounding dementia factsheets. SPA-LTC Alliance
The Strengthening a Palliative Approach in Long-Term Care Alliance is a national collaboration of people who
aim to improve the quality of living and dying within long-term care homes. The Alliance is led by Dr. Sharon
Kaasalainen (McMaster University) in partnership with Dr. Mary Lou Kelley.
The Alliance recently received five years of project funding from Health Canada to gather together, create and distribute the best tools and resources for delivering the palliative approach within long-term care across Canada. The SPA resources will support direct care, program development, and staff training.

Dementia Dialogue has launched a new series on Young Onset Dementia. This series begins with a conversation between Matt Dineen, a father of three and husband from Ottawa, Ontario, and Jillian McConnell, guest host and Knowledge Mobilization lead with brainXchange. Nine years ago, Matt's wife Lisa was diagnosed with Behavioural variant Fronto-temporal dementia (bvFTD) at the age of 43.
