Subject: Activation of Long Beach CERT in Support of the Repopulation Efforts at the Palisades Incident
Dear Long Beach CERT Team,
We are writing to inform you that the Long Beach CERT team has been requested to support ongoing repopulation efforts in areas impacted by the Palisades Fire. This deployment will be carried out in partnership with the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department CERT Programs.
This deployment will begin tomorrow morning, Tuesday, January 21st, 2025. Based on the incident's needs, it will continue as necessary and be assessed daily.
As part of this mission, your expertise and assistance are crucial to ensuring a smooth and safe repopulation process for residents returning to their homes after evacuation.
Key Details:
- Activation Purpose: To assist with the safe return of residents to evacuated areas, provide support at check-in points, and help maintain safety and order during this critical time.
- Safety Protocols: Please follow all safety protocols, as there may still be ongoing hazards in the area. Ensure that you have the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) to carry out various duties as assigned.

Melanie Miller, CERT coordinator, will provide further instructions regarding meeting points, schedules, and additional specifics.
