CFA Awarded Funding For Six
School-Based Health Clinics
Child and Family Agency is one of 13 Connecticut organizations selected to receive new, one-time funding to enhance access to health care, including mental health and primary care services, at six of its school-based health centers (SBHCs).
SBHCs are crucial partnerships between schools and community health organizations, providing essential health care where students spend most of their time – in schools. In particular, mental health treatment for children is an acute problem that SBHCs are uniquely positioned to address.

The following SBHCs are included in this award:
- Ella T. Grasso Technical High School Groton
- Gallop Hill Elementary School, Ledyard
- Ledyard High School, Ledyard
- Ledyard Middle School, Gales Ferry
- Northeast Academy Arts Magnet School, Mystic
- Stonington High School, Pawcatuck
Funding was made possible through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and provided by the Connecticut Department of Public Health. The School-Based Health Alliance manages the grant process and offers training and technical assistance.
