Jessica Chan has been promoted to Director of Medical Services. In her new role, she oversees delivery of high-quality medical care at CFA, manages staff and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, Jess leads professional development and Quality Assurance and Improvement activities within Medical Services.
Jess is a tireless advocate for all CFA staff and the people they serve. In recent months, she’s focused on adding more Certified Medical or Nursing Assistants to support our School-Based Health Center providers, and helped secure grant funding for marketing and outreach, student and caregiver education sessions, and the "Health on a Shelf" initiative.
Her efforts are paying off. Our SBHC program increased productivity by nearly 18% from this time last year, with nearly 1,000 more visits!
Jess has testified before the State legislature in support of School-Based Health Center funding, reproductive healthcare rights for adolescents, and state contractual obligations.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut School of Nursing and her Master of Science degree from Yale School of Nursing. She is Acting Treasurer for the Connecticut Association of School-Based Health Centers (CASBHC). She is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (PPCNP-BC). As a mom to two active young boys, she somehow also found time to be assistant director for a community theater musical production – a star at work and at home! Join us in congratulating Jess!
