The Self Help Inc Parent Child Plus program serves families from: *Randolph, Holbrook and Rockland
What is ParentChild+?
  • It provides your child with a free high- quality book or educational toy each week -at least 46 new books and toys!
  • A trained community-based Early Learning Specialist will visit your home twice a week for 30 minutes to help you get your child ready for school.
  • You will learn creative ways to read and play with your child.
  • It helps you prepare your child to be successful in school.
  • This program is for families with a child ages 16 months-3 years old.

CFCE In-Person Summer Programming will all take place outside. In-person programs require pre-registration
Live Zoom
CFCE ZOOM Programs are LIVE virtual programs, lead by a CFCE Specialist, done over ZOOM, using your computer, phone or tablet. Pre-registration is required.
CFCE Pre-Recorded programs can be story times, science activities, cooking and more. CFCE staff record themselves, and post the video online for families to watch at their convenience.
At-Home Activities
CFCE At-Home activities are a collection of videos, book recommendations and activities that CFCE staff have put together, for families to explore at home at their convenience.

Kindergarten Readiness on Zoom

If you have a child entering Kindergarten in September 2021, this program is for you!
 This is a 3-week Live Zoom program for families. This program is geared towards children with little to no experience in formalized care such as preschool. We will promote kindergarten readiness skills and learn how to make a smooth transition to kindergarten for both children and parents.

Play, Grow and Read: Parent Info Session

This pre-recorded parent information session is for parents that have children entering Kindergarten in the fall. The video explains phonemic awareness and has beginning literacy skills activities for parents to do with their children to help prepare for Kindergarten. A Literacy Activity Packet with the materials used in the video will be available upon their request.

A to Z Activities for Families with School Aged Children

These at-home activities will be two alphabet letter activities each month- depending of when you start your registration. After you receive the monthly email directions for each letter, have a great time doing the activity together- creating great opportunities for you and your child(ren) to have some FUN, quality time together!!! Then the way to complete these activities is to have your child draw a picture OR a photo picture of the family doing the letter activity along with a brief story description about what happened and their favorite part!!! Send it via mail or email to Carol Carver. Each time you complete an alphabet activity with this participation, your name will be entered into a quarterly drawing to win some really cool raffles!!! REGISTER at for this activity

Simple Crafts to Make from Materials in the Home: PAPER BAGS!!!

 Families will watch the 3 shared craft ideas with their child(ren) of what to make with a certain object (paper plates, cups, plastic silverware, etc.) and then create which ever ones they want to on their own. Also, the families are encouraged to come up with their own ideas to be CREATIVE! A Book reading is also included for the children to listen to!!! ENJOY:)

"ANIMAL" Yoga: Exercise & Relaxation

This program will introduce families of young children to yoga! This will include yoga poses and movements, breathing exercises, story time, and art experiences together. A magical unicorn bubble machine will add an element of joy at the end of the program.
