Back to School with a Firefighter
On July 30th we held our 2nd annual Back to School with a Firefighter event.  The Back to School event is a joint effort between CFD2 and the Prairie Village Foundation. Members of our staff accompany area children to shop for needed school supplies utilizing donations made to the Prairie Village Foundation. This year we designated the $1600 in proceeds from our June Open House for the cause.

Back to School time can be very tough for families due to the many expenses involved such as fees, supplies, etc. This program aims to provide these families with a little assistance in order to get the school year off to a great start.
A Visit From Our Neighbors

The STARS teens from the Down Syndrome Guild walked down the street to see us at Station 21 on a warm and sunny July afternoon. They learned a bit about the life and career of a firefighter and also got to try their hand at operating a fire hose.  As always it was a pleasure to spend time with these fantastic teens.

Station 23
Great progress is being made on the construction of our new Station 23. We expect to be moving in late winter or early spring 2019. Below is an aerial view of the site.
