Each year on the day of their graduation, participants in the UCSF Teaching Scholars Program share project work with the incoming class of Teaching Scholars and the broader UCSF community. At this year's graduation on September 11, division chiefs, department chairs, and deans participated in the celebration honoring this year's graduates and their scholarly projects. Read article

I recently interviewed new member Sharon Youmans, PharmD, MPH, to reflect on her education journey and current curricular changes in the School of Pharmacy. Sharon is Vice Dean and Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and responsible for administrative oversight of the PharmD program, including Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, Student Affairs, Educational Support Services, and Assessment and Accreditation. During her visit to UCSF for the Academy Celebration of New Members' keynote address, I had a chance to sit down with Susan Ball, MD, MPH, MS and discuss narrative medicine, mentorship, and careers in academic medicine. Dr. Ball is Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, and her talk Narrative in Medicine: The Essential Link, touches on her work caring for patients with HIV/AIDS for over twenty years and teaching narrative medicine to faculty, students, and staff. CFE Kicks off Fall Faculty Development Educational Skills Workshops for 2018

CFE returns with another season of popular returning and new workshops and Med Ed grand rounds. Teach for UCSF Certificate Program participants and others interested in registering for courses can view a filterable calendar by category and campus.
