June 2020
Congratulations to the Class of 2020!
Meet some of the outstanding students who received CFM scholarships

The Community Foundation holds a number of scholarship funds established by donors to honor or to memorialize someone. Founding donors set the criteria and develop the application process following IRS guidelines. Here are a few of the students who capped a very unusual senior year with an award.
Congratulations to them all.

Dave Cannada Memorial Scholarship

The Dave Cannada Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by a group of Murrah High School alumni in memory of 1968 Murrah graduate and student body president Dave Cannada. This prestigious scholarship is awarded to two Murrah seniors whose academic and leadership skills best mirror those of Cannada.

The 2020 Cannada Scholars are Christopher McDonald and Desmond Young.
Desmond Young is heading to his dream school, Washington University in St. Louis. He plans to major in architecture and hopes to design innovative and beautiful facilities to house, educate, and assist those who are homeless with finding a job and a place to live.
Christopher McDonald credits a faculty mentor with inspiring him to want to have a positive impact on future generations. He will be enrolling at St. Olaf College, where he plans to major in music. A student leader of the Murrah Choir, his goal is to teach and conduct choirs in the future.
Robert E. Luckett Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Richland High School principal Robert Luckett, this scholarship is awarded to seniors at Richland High School who have excelled in their studies and been highly recommended by the faculty. Meet this year's Luckett Scholarship winners.
