Scholarship Spotlight: John Michels
Ole Miss student wins Boswell Award
Madison, Mississippi native John Michels was recently awarded the John Robert Boswell Memorial Scholarship, presented annually to an outstanding senior chemical engineering major at the University of Mississippi. An active staff member for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Chapter at the University of Mississippi, he is a member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College.
Michels has worked as a teaching assistant within the chemical engineering curriculum and will enter his senior year with a GPA of 3.99. He is spending the summer as an undergraduate researcher at the University of Southern Mississippi.
"I was delighted to hear that I have been accepted for the John Robert Boswell Scholarship, and I look forward to furthering my education with the generous gift provided by the Community Foundation for Mississippi," noted Michels.
The John Robert Boswell Memorial Scholarship in Chemical Engineering was established at the Foundation in 2000 by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Boswell in memory of their son, a 1984 graduate.
