As a co-op member, you have the right and responsibility to be informed of how your co-op is doing financially. But financial reports without context can feel overwhelming! This session will introduce cooperators to the key reports -- income statement, budget, balance sheet, and cash flow statement -- key information contained in each report, and how co-ops use them to make better decisions.

We've designed this as an introductory workshop for non-finance folks who want to be better prepared to participate in co-op life. Click here to register.

In Case You Missed It!

The Restaurant Revitalization Fund Application Portal opened on Monday, May 3, at 12 p.m. Restaurants are encouraged to apply even if they have not yet opened their doors, so long as they have incurred eligible expenses between Feb 15, 2020 & Mar 11, 2021.

For the first 21 days that the program is open (May 3 - 24) the SBA will prioritize funding applications from businesses owned and controlled by women, veterans, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. If you need help with your application or are deciding whether or not to apply, click here to schedule an appointment with us.

Following the 21 days, all eligible applications will be funded on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’re ready to get started, click here to access the application portal.

Last month, Ward Lumber employees made history by purchasing their 130-year-old business as a worker cooperative! This New York lumber products and hardware store has been in Jay Ward’s family for four generations. Click here to see the video.
We are both pleased and saddened to announce the retirement of CFNE Maine Loan and Outreach Officer, Deborah Hawkins. We are appreciative for all of her hard work supporting the cooperative economy in Maine, and wish her the best in her future endeavors.

We hope you'll consider joining the CFNE Team! Review of resumes will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled, priority will be given to resumes before May 16, 2021.

While this e-newsletter is focused on providing valuable content to cooperatives, please also check out our Winter Newsletter for updates on CFNE’s strategic plan and other work. If you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter using this Link.
