Welcome, New Board Members!

We are so pleased to welcome Dr. Maryann Cater and Marlene Midget to the CFOV Board of Trustees.

Dr. Cater and Ms. Midget will add valuable expertise to the board, which is comprised entirely of volunteers.

Here's more about our new members:
Dr. Cater is a retired anesthesiologist and served in a number of leadership roles related to her area of expertise, including department chair at Wheeling Hospital. Notably, Dr. Cater served as the first female president of the Ohio County Medial Society and the second female president of the allopathic West Virginia State Medical Association. She is a past Wheeling Symphony board member and is a current member of the Women's Giving Circle.

Mrs. Midget is an accomplished administrator, having spent 33 years in the early childhood education space. She retired in 2015 as the executive director of Northern Panhandle Head Start and served on a number of related boards and councils during her career. Active in her church and the community, she is a former board member of the YWCA and the Ohio County Family Resource Network, a volunteer at Laughlin Chapel and a member of the Wheeling Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration planning committee and the Wheeling NAACP and Ohio County Democratic Women. She has received several awards recognizing her community involvement and advocacy.

The CFOV board meets quarterly, with committee work taking place year round! In addition to board members, several community members representing the CFOV service area serve as volunteers on the Foundation's development and scholarship committees.

We're grateful for these selfless community members who willingly share their expertise and dedication to the Foundation’s efforts through their service.

Emergency Impact Fund

Thanks to contributions from our donors, partners and friends in philanthropy we are able to continue this responsive grantmaking, which has allowed many organizations to continue and expand needed services during the ongoing and evolving COVID-19 crisis.

We have our eyes on the future and invite organizations to consider submitting an application.
Basic human needs and general operating are areas of emphasis, but we also invite proposals related to organizational survivability and evolution.

And - it's not too late to make a gift to the Emergency Impact Fund! Contributions to the Emergency Impact Fund are tax-deductible and make great things happen for our communities!
