The Women's Giving Circle recently partnered with Wheeling Heritage in support of two great projects! The most recent Show of Hands, a community crowd-funding initiative, highlighted female entrepreneurs.
This edition's focus was suggested by the Women's Giving Circle and was further supported by a $3,000 grant to enhance the available prize. Corey Kidd's "Bakery 49" was selected as the winner and she walked away with $11,350 - the largest prize yet!
The WGC has also granted $2,000 to provide scholarships to female participants of Wheeling Heritage's CO.STARTERS entrepreneurship program.
These projects are fantastic representations of the Women's Giving Circle's dedication to improving the lives of women and girls! |
Our most recent "On the Menu" nonprofit strengthening session took an active and thorough look at working with the media!
Emma Pepper and Amanda Workman, from the West Virginia Community Development Hub, shared practical knowledge and tips with our attendees.
The Hub is a fantastic resource for a wide variety of issues - be sure to learn more about their work and don't be afraid to seek their guidance.
We'll announce our next session in the coming months - until then, share your topic wish list! Think about things that would make your organization stronger and your work more effective! Send those ideas our way by reaching out via email!
