The CFOV team is returning to the office after a period of working from home.
Although the office is open, access to the building is limited to staff and appointments will be required for the foreseeable future.
Making an appointment is easy! Just email the staff member you wish to see or call the office at 304-242-3144. Anyone entering the building will be asked to practice social distancing and utilize available sanitization tools. Masks or similar face coverings are recommended.
We look forward to returning to our work "home" and engaging with our donors, partners and friends in philanthropy in ways that respect and protect everyone's health. |
| Emergency Impact Fund Grants |
The fund, created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, provides flexible operating grants to support organizations working through new challenges, with preference extended to nonprofits supporting basic human needs. Future preferences will be identified as needs evolve and grants will be awarded as long as funding exists.
Emergency Impact Fund grantees are continuing to perform critical work across CFOV's eight-county service area despite the increasing strain on resources of all types.
Despite these trying times, the generosity demonstrated by Ohio Valley residents continues to shine. The Emergency Impact Fund has grown through contributions from individuals, fund advisors, corporations, private foundations and friends of philanthropy.
As a community foundation, CFOV supports those in its footprint through a variety of tools - some provide support over time and others are more immediate.
The Emergency Impact Fund represents both - a true product of support for the community from the community when times are tough.

The Women's Giving Circle is gearing up to celebrate a BIG milestone - their tenth anniversary!
A celebratory event is being planned for September. Given the significance of the anniversary event, the annual picnic will not be held.
For now, members should watch their emails for an invitation to the group's next meeting, which will take place via Zoom on June 17 at 5:30 p.m.
Check out the new art designed in recognition of the group's decade of grantmaking! You'll be seeing it throughout the year!

| Take 5 to Give 5 - Giving Tuesday Now |
The Take 5 to Give 5 campaign included matching funds thanks to generous sponsors. The match made each gift greater, ultimately making more support possible during these challenging times.
It was an exciting day - over $500,000 in contributions and matching funds was raised for COVID-19 relief funds across the state!

| Virtual Community Meeting |
|
Here's a great (virtual!) community opportunity for anyone interested in the structure and availability of services related to substance use disorder and/or mental health issues in West Virginia. More information can be found here. |
CFOV partnered with Girl Scout Troop 3085 to say thank you to area frontline workers!
Nearly 1500 boxes of Girl Scout cookies were distributed to first responders, hospital staff, public health teams, grocery and postal workers, media partners, unemployment coordinators and drive thru associates.
The familiar cookies provided a sweet way to extend a huge thanks for the extra efforts being made to keep our communities moving in a safe and productive direction and also provided support for Troop 3085's projects! |

| Support the Emergency Impact Fund |
|
In response to the mounting challenges created by COVID-19 (coronavirus),
the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV) has created an
Emergency Impact Fund to provide operating grants to organizations
in the Foundation's eight-county service area working to
maintain services
with decreasing means of support.
While the long-term impact of the pandemic remains unknown, organizations working to fulfill already critical needs are feeling strain, which is resulting in new challenges. This presents an opportunity for the community to gather and deploy resources in a responsive, unified and flexible way.
Individuals, corporations, donor advisors and private foundations are encouraged to join CFOV in these supportive efforts by making a gift to the fund.
All gifts are tax-deductible and will be used to support
local organizations as they adjust to changing demands.
Contributions to the Emergency Impact Fund can be made by making a check payable to CFOV, with Emergency Impact Fund in the memo line, and mailing to 1226 Chapline Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.
