On June 18th, CFPD held the AGM & Annual Celebration at Peggy May Legacy Centre | CFPD held the Annual General Meeting and Celebration on June 18 at the Peggy May Legacy Centre in Southport, MB. At this event, we honoured fundholders who are celebrating milestone fund anniversaries this year; presented student bursary winners with their award certificates; and shared some highlights from 2025 (including a special presentation and art display by guests from the Portage Ukrainian Nursery Centre). We were pleased to see so many join us for this special evening—with over 60 in attendance! | |

(Carl) McGregor Fund (30 years). CFPD is very proud to contribute to the future of our community's workforce and talent by providing this financial support to numerous local students as they embark on their educational journeys. In total, over $80,000 was awarded through this program in 2026. The funds will be put toward the repair and purchase of new djembes for the École Arthur Meighen and Crescentview School music programs. CFPD is very happy to be able to provide this grant to the schools for this delightful music program where students can learn how to play beautiful music on African drums! Burnside, Longburn, Oakville, and Prospect Cemeteries are all within the Portage la Prairie & District area. This year, Longburn is celebrating its 5-year fund anniversary, and Prospect is celebrating its 10-year fund anniversary.
