STUDENT SUPPORT

BACK-TO-SCHOOL BASH

Shriners Children's Las Vegas is holding its back to school bash on Saturday, August 1! Students can get free comprehensive sports physicals, and there will be interactive learning stations, games, prizes, and more. Bring your favorite stuffy along for the Teddy Bear Adventure, where kids can learn what a visit to an orthopedic clinic is all about.

KICKOFF TO KINDERGARTEN

Prepare your child for kindergarten with UNR's school readiness fair! Enjoy fun hands-on activities while learning about Nevada Pre-K standards. The CCSD Book Bus, UNLV dental screenings, and a produce market will all be available. This event is designed for kids ages 3-5 and their families.

COX BACK-TO-SCHOOL FAIR

Southern Nevada's longest running back-to-school fair returns for back-to-back weekends! This exciting family event provides access to school and community resources with giveaways, activities, and more. Check out the flyer for dates and location information!

INFINITE CAMPUS WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS

Whether it's updating your contact information, checking your child's progress, or registering your child for classes, Infinite Campus is a CCSD parent's best friend. Our informative workshop will provide you with all of the tools that you need to start using this crucial system.

HEALTH-RELATED RESOURCES

FREE DENTAL SERVICES FOR KIDS!

Need free dental care for your child? The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is coming to the Family Support Center on Tuesday, August 4th! Services are free for kids ages 0-21, regardless of insurance. A parent or guardian must attend. Call 1-800-787-2568 to book an appointment!

FREE ROUTINE VACCINES

FOR KIDS!

CCSD requires that all students be up-to-date on their vaccines. Grab your child's shot records and head down to the Central FSC on August 18th or 19th. A parent or guardian must be present, and while insurance will be billed if you have it, there is no cost for vaccines. See you there!

***Don't forget the required vaccines for all incoming 7th- and 12th-graders.***

If your child needs medical care this summer, check out one of the many free or low-cost clinics around the Valley. Clinics offer a number of services including vaccinations, check ups, prescription refills, sick visits, mental health services and screenings, and more. THE JFSA POP-UP IS COMING!

The JFSA pop-up is back at the Central Family Support Center! There are no income or residency requirements, so come down to the CFSC multipurpose room to get some free food!

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

CCSD wants you! Come check out the CCSD Skills for Success event at the Central Family Support Center on Tuesday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.! Gain insights into your resume with customized guidance to make it application-ready. 

CCSD staff will be there to provide hands-on support in navigating the application process and help you take a deep dive into the career offerings at CCSD so that you can find the perfect fit. We will even have a photographer on hand to take your professional headshot — the perfect finishing touch for your resume and LinkedIn page.

Drop in anytime--walk-ins are welcome!
