CARNAVAL CULTURAL FIESTA MORELENSE


The Carnaval Cultural Fiesta Morelense is coming to the Walnut Recreation Center on Saturday, May 9! There will be food, craft vendors, resource vendors, entertainment, water activities for the kids, and so much more, including a live performance by La Banda de Tlayacapan. WORKSHOP:

INTERPRETING WIDA ACCESS TEST SCORES


You got your students' WIDA ACCESS test scores back, but what do they mean? The English Language Learner Division's informative workshop will teach you all this and more. You'll learn how to read and interpret your students' scores, understand what they mean, and explore the expectations for reading, writing, speaking, and listening. This informative workshop will help you set your student up for success!

TIME FOR PRE-K!


Will your student be 3 years old by August 1st? If they are, it's time for Pre-K! Parents are responsible for Pre-K transportation, and children must not be eligible for kindergarten in order to be considered. If you need help registering, come down to the Central Family Support Center!

SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION


It's time to register for summer school! Original credit courses are available for high schoolers who want to get ahead, and credit retrieval is available for middle and high schoolers. Pre-registration is open through May 27, so have your student talk to their counselor today!

FREE DENTAL SERVICES FOR KIDS!


Need free dental care for your child? The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is coming to the Family Support Center on Tuesday, May 5th! Services are free for kids ages 0-21, regardless of insurance. A parent or guardian must attend. Call 1-800-787-2568 to book an appointment!

FREE ROUTINE VACCINES

FOR KIDS!


CCSD requires that all students be up to date on their vaccines. Grab your child's shot records and head down to the FSC on May 13 or 20. A parent or guardian must be present, and while insurance will be billed if you have it, there is no cost for vaccines. See you there!




BACK-TO-SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICES


Back-to-school season is just around the corner! If your child needs shots, a physical, or other medical services, come to the UNLV Health Pediatric Family Support Center. All CCSD students, ages 3-21, are welcome at no cost! They also do sick visits, referrals, and medication refills, so come down if your child needs to see a doctor. If you have insurance, please bring the info, but it's no problem if you don't. Please scan the QR code on the flyer or call 702-586-9943 to make an appointment--walk-ins are not available.

NEVADA CHILDREN'S

HEALTH PROJECT


The Nevada Children's Health Project offers same-day medical care for at-risk youth up to age 21! Stop by any Vegas Valley clinic for sick visits, exams, immunizations, mental health resources, pregnancy help, and more.


UNLV PEDIATRIC CLINIC


If your child needs healthcare, check out the UNLV Health Clinic located in the same building as the Central Family Support Center! Whether you need a physical, acute care, a prescription, mental health treatment, immunizations, referrals, and more, the Pediatric Family Support Center Clinic is here. Please bring your insurance information if you have it. Walk-ins are NOT available, so please call 702-586-9943 to make an appointment.

UPDATES TO THE SNAP PROGRAM


Important updates to the SNAP program take effect on May 1st. New rules mean that you may need to meet additional requirements to keep your benefits.

WELFARE SUPPORT SERVICES


Are you interested in SNAP, EBT, TANF, WIC, Medicaid, or energy bill assistance? Come to the Central Family Support Center on Thursdays or Fridays to meet with a rep from the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services! They can help you navigate the application process and help you apply. No appointment is necessary--just stop in!

COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS


Is your student ready for life after high school? Check out the College and Career Readiness workshop at the Family Support Center! This workshop will equip college-bound students with the tools they need to succeed in post-secondary education. COLLEGE PREP OFFICE HOURS


If you have questions about college, log into the Fulfillment Fundamentals post-secondary prep office hours every Tuesday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. They can provide individualized college and financial aid counseling as well as help with NCAA requirements and college applications. Nevada Talking Book Services offers free 24/7 access to over 150,000 audio books and magazines and over 20,000 e-braille titles! Electronic braille e-readers, digital standard and advanced players 📻, and high-volume audio players are all available at no cost to you! You can also get print braille books. This program is open to people of all ages who are legally blind, who have a physical or visual disability, or who have a reading disability.
