2024 Golf Outing Raised Over $51,000 to Support Scholarships & Outreach Programs

This year’s golf outing was really fun and it was evident that all involved had a great day – even the weather cooperated! Our goal was to raise $50,000. We exceeded that goal with a net income of $51,146.45!

This never would have been possible without the 376 golfers, 54 sponsors, 35 day of outing volunteers, and the golf outing committee members.

And a special thanks to those who donated such great Raffle Prizes!

The 2024 Golf Outing Fundraiser helps grow and support the next generation of Food and Beverage Industry Professionals by funding:

• Scholarships for incoming Freshman Students in Food Science Area
• Scholarships for Undergraduate Students in Food Science Area
• Scholarships for Graduate students in Food Science Area
• Travel Grants for University of IL students to participate in CSIFT Events
• Travel Grants for IIT students to participate in CSIFT Events
• Food Science Day at Chicago High School for Agriculture Sciences with 200 Sophomore students
• Food Science Day at York High School with 400 Culinary Students
• An Educator Event to Science/Chemistry Middle and High School Teacher to supply them with content and experiments to be taught in classrooms
• Awards for 100 gift card each in the amount of $75 to Educators across the state so they can purchase supplies for classroom Food Science Experiments.
• Awards for the best Food Science 4-H project at county fairs across the state to encourage participation/exposure
• Participation in Chemistry Career Conference at the Museum of Science and Industry where 2500 students learn about Food Chemistry
• A mentoring program for students to connect with professionals
• Conducting Experiments at Westmore Elementary STEM Night with K-5 students
• Conducting Experiments at a STEM club at South Loop Elementary K-7^th grade in Chicago

Founded by Chicago Section IFT in 2015, the Chicagoland Food Science Foundation (CFSF) is a 501c3 organization that serves as its “giving arm”.
