LEADERSHIP - MARTHA PRITCHARD, Chair
One of the most important responsibilities of a District President is identifying and encouraging future Federation leaders. CFWC LEADS 2027 provides an outstanding opportunity to invest in members who have demonstrated leadership potential, dedication to service, and a desire to grow within the California Federation of Women's Clubs (CFWC) and the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC).
The GFWC Leadership, Education, and Development Seminar (LEADS) is a premier leadership development program designed to prepare emerging leaders for future service at the district, state, and national levels. Held annually in conjunction with the CFWC February State Board Meeting, the seminar equips participants with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to become effective Federation leaders.
Through interactive presentations and discussions, attendees receive training in public speaking, time management, vision casting, conflict resolution, parliamentary procedure, protocol, GFWC resources, and leadership development. Participants leave inspired, better prepared to serve their clubs and districts, and equipped to strengthen the Federation through effective leadership.
The 2027 CFWC LEADS Seminar will be held February 19–21, 2027, at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West. Each CFWC District is encouraged to nominate one outstanding candidate who exemplifies leadership potential, commitment to Federation, and a willingness to continue serving in greater leadership roles. During the seminar, candidates will participate in leadership activities and be evaluated by a panel of judges. At the conclusion of the program, one participant will be selected to represent California at the GFWC LEADS Seminar, held in conjunction with the GFWC Annual Convention.
LEADS is more than a seminar—it is an investment in the future of our Federation. Graduates return to their clubs and districts with renewed enthusiasm, valuable leadership skills, and a broader understanding of CFWC and GFWC. They are encouraged to share their knowledge, mentor future leaders, and help build a stronger Federation for years to come.
The selected candidate's complete application packet must be submitted by the District to CFWC Leadership Chair Martha Pritchard at SparklingLeadership@gmail.com no later than midnight on January 15, 2027. Please do not send compressed (ZIP) files.

Thank you for helping identify and encourage tomorrow's Federation leaders. Your thoughtful nomination can provide a deserving member with a life-changing leadership experience while strengthening the future of CFWC and GFWC.
