EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE CORNER

MEMBERSHIP - AREA D VP - ALISON ECCLESTON

Membership Branding is about clarifying your message, strengthening your story, and inviting others to belong. Branding shows the world who you are, what you value, and what you are doing. When your mission, logo, tagline, story, and website work together, they help people see the heart of your club and invite them to become part of it.

The Concluding Part six - Keep the heart of the story visible

The most important question is not only what your club does, but how and why you do it. Many clubs provide service, but the spirit behind the service is what makes the experience meaningful. In a woman’s club, service is strengthened by friendship and shared purpose.

Key takeaway: Members may receive appreciation, recognition, or a simple thank-you, but the deeper reward comes from doing meaningful work together.

CFWC 1st VICE PRESIDENT - CINDY SANDERS

108th Annual Western States Region Conference Re-Cap

“Voices Through The Canyons” was the inspiration and theme for the Utah State Night, in honor of their “mighty five” National Parks. The dinner celebration was the beginning of a wonderful WSR 2026.

The Western States Regional Conference including the states of Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming is a great opportunity to spend time with and learn about our GFWC leaders.

Wendy Carriker, GFWC International President shared words of greetings from headquarters. GFWC President-Elect Jolie Frankfurt encouraged leadership growth with a comparison to learning how to body surf as a child and Mary Beth Williams, GFWC First Vice President was also a guest speaker.

In addition, presentations from Operation Smile and Adopt A Native Elder were very moving and informative. Shot At Life updates were presented and members were invited to become Champions.

It was an honor to represent California in the absence of our CFWC president, Chris Herzog. I had the opportunity to fill in by sitting with the WSR State Presidents, walk in the processional and present the California State President’s report. A huge thanks goes to the 20 CFWC members that attended the conference, I certainly appreciated the support and encouragement from each of you.

Next year the 109th WSR conference will be held in Billings, Montana so start making plans now to attend September 10 - 12, 2027!

THANK YOU

A thank you and confirmation notice was emailed to Past President Sonya Matthies from SGV Habitat Eaton Fire Victims’ Relief Fund for the $3,723 donation CFWC made.

An invitation was extended to CFWC members to tour the homes being built. If interested in touring the homes contact Ruthie Blake, Corporate Partnership Officer 626.419.3458.  https://sgvhabitat.org/rebuildaltadena/
