EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE CORNER

MEMBERSHIP - AREA D VP - ALISON ECCLESTON

Membership Branding is about clarifying your message, strengthening your story, and inviting others to belong. Branding shows the world who you are, what you value, and what you are doing. When your mission, logo, tagline, story, and website work together, they help people see the heart of your club and invite them to become part of it.

Part four - Evaluate Your Website and Public Messages

Look at your website and public materials with fresh eyes. What do they say to someone who knows nothing about your club? The message should feel clear, current, welcoming, and easy to understand.

·      Is the website easy to navigate?

·      Does it highlight what makes the club special?

·      Does it focus too heavily on rentals, deadlines, or old calendars?

·      Does it make visitors feel invited and welcome?

·      Is there a clear next step for someone who wants to learn more?

Part 5 will be here next week.

LEADERSHIP - MARTHA PRITCHARD, Chair

Hello Club Presidents!

Is it hard to believe September is almost over and our Area Meetings are just around the corner?

Just a reminder that it’s time to start the search for your LEADS candidate! ✨

Each club may choose one outstanding member to present to your District President for consideration.

I’ve listed a few LEADS Candidate Guidelines to help you in your search and identify someone who has the potential to Put the Sparkle in Leadership! ✨

I’m looking forward to hearing from everyone and seeing the wonderful candidates our clubs have to offer!

Let’s find that sparkle!

LEADS Candidate Guidelines

Consider a member who:

  1. Is an active club member and regularly attends meetings and activities.
  2. Participates in club projects and is willing to take on responsibilities.
  3. Has demonstrated leadership by chairing a project, serving as a chairman, or holding an office.
  4. Shows interest in future leadership and is willing to learn and grow.
  5. Is involved or interested in becoming involved at the District level.
  6. Demonstrates initiative, dependability, teamwork, and enthusiasm for Federation

HEALTH & WELLNESS - NANCY ANN KRUEGER, Chair

You are invited to a ZOOM workshop featuring your two CFWC chairman- Health & Wellness and Environment. Find the flyer on the cfwc.org website, look under the tab name LEADERSHIP, to COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM, to ADVANCEMENT CHAIRMAN, and then scroll down to Health & Wellness to see the flyer and other chairman programs.

The Zoom is set for September 25th from 7pm to 8pm. This workshop is open to all members, and it is ok to designate your district president and your club president and their health & wellness chairmen. As districts and clubs resume their officer and membership meetings, discuss amongst the membership what may be a list of topic needs of concern and importance to address and to educate for the year. See you soon.

ARTS & CULTURE - NANCY JO BANKO, Chair

Culture is all around us: our rituals, how we dress, what we eat, how we behave, how we learn about the world. Even Federation itself can be considered a “culture” - of volunteering, gathering women together, forming friendships, a common goal of helping others. And of course, our ethnic backgrounds – the rich diversity we bring to Federation and celebrate in our communities. And the more we interact with each other, the more we realize “…it is the little things that create differences; that in the big things of life, we are one.” Projects to consider:

·      Hold a potluck where members bring dishes that reflect their heritage, and have them share stories about the dish and their families

·      Invite local artisans to demonstrate/teach crafts such as weaving, pottery, culinary dishes

·      Create a calendar [or jigsaw puzzle] with pictures of cultural places in your community. Use as fundraiser or handout to expand your reach in the community

·      Sponsor a mural contest with your city to decorate power boxes or business windows with art reflecting different cultures.

Entries for the Octopus Challenge will be based on the calendar year, just like Reports. Once you have completed all the challenges, you may submit to GFWC. Click here for the form. Please also notify me of your projects as you complete them, so I can track our progress.
