October 18, 2021
Laughter, when was the last time you had a belly-full of laughter? Well, I can honestly tell you that for me it was just yesterday at the Area B Meeting in Wasco! Oh, my goodness, but we had a fun-filled day of friendship, information, and speeches.
There was more beginning with a fabulous meal provided by the Wasco Club President, Cheryl Woody, where on Friday night about fifteen of us gathered for an Octoberfest meal that was delicious. It is so good to be out and among friends. We laughed, took photos, and just talked about anything we wanted…it has been so long that we have a lot to catch up on and we did. The meal, the ambiance, the love, the laughter, and the company were, well nothing short of marvelous and so needed. It was some of the best medicine I have had in a long time.
Saturday’s meeting did not disappoint either. If you have never been to the Wasco Clubhouse, you have missed another California gem! There were about eighty in attendance and Patsy Wilson did a fabulous job of keeping us on our toes and laughing between speakers, door prizes, lunch, and photo-ops. Sonja Hults has over the last two weekends of Area Meetings taken some of the best photos ever and you should visit Dropbox to see the fun and frivolity. Sonja catches all the special moments that our Area C and Area B Vice Presidents have provided, and I know I will smile at the memories for ever when I look at those moments frozen in time.
It is a remarkable thing to laugh and get those muscles working, it has been great for my soul, and I cannot think of a better way to spend my October than being with and meeting the many members of GFWC California at the Area Meetings. Each Meeting planned by these creative and lovely CFWC Officers are different and with two down and two to go: I cannot wait to see what happens next.
I hope to see you at this coming weekend’s Area D Meeting and then the next weekend at the Area A meeting. I am sure there will be more information, more fun, and more laughter just be there if you can for the Federation fun!
Laughter, I laughed and laughed and laughed all weekend long. Thank you Area B members for making my weekend grand.
Luv, Pam

GFWC ADVOCATES FOR CHILDREN WEEK coming up October 24 to October 30

What project is your club planning for GFWC ADVOCATES FOR CHILDREN WEEK coming up October 24 to October 30? Although our clubs do many things for children all year, one special week in October is designated by GFWC to reach out to the children of our communities, our nation and the world. The Giraffe award will be presented at the 2022 GFWC convention during the Junior Business Session to the one club that enters a service project that does the most for children during Advocates for Children Week. This is a Challenge Project. So, “Stick Your Neck Out” and do a special project for the children the last week of October and try for the Giraffe Award. The application for the Giraffe Award is in the 2020-2022 GFWC Club Manual or contact me for a copy.

We are inviting our members to share stories about their personal experiences with breast cancer. Please send them to cfwccommunications@gmail.com. They will be included with others we have received and will be published in the near future. We ask that you note if you would prefer your name withheld.

Thank you for your participation in this project.
Two done and two to go!!!

Area D Update
Help Keep California Green

         Recent Update from Wendy
Area D Conference – Saturday, October 23rd
Hello members of Area D – the day is almost here for our Conference on Saturday! It will be so wonderful to meet together. Remember to bring a creation for the “Mask-R-ade” – there will be prizes! Ooh, and vendors too.
A quick reminder: please wear your Club, District or State name badge. This serves a two-fold purpose: no sticky name tags (environmentally great) and we will get to know where you hail from. Win-Win for us all. So excited to see you all.
