FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members and Friends,

As 2025 ends, CFWC celebrates our members’ meaningful contributions through service. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and ready to do even more in 2026.

With the new year, I encourage you all to “Ignite Your Volunteer Spirit.” Our focus is on recruiting, retaining, and engaging every member as the CFWC MemberSHIP team launches—lets get all 10,161 members involved! Share your reasons for joining and the positive impact you’ve seen, so others can experience the rewards of giving back too.

As we look ahead, let’s carry forward the spirit of unity and purpose that defines our organization. Your dedication and enthusiasm inspire new possibilities, and together, we can reach even greater heights. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to the Federation’s mission – your efforts truly make a difference in our communities. With optimism and gratitude, I look forward to all we will accomplish in the coming year.

Wishing you a successful and fulfilling New Year. Let’s make it one where we continue making a difference together.

In Federation and Love,

Sonya

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT and OUTREACH - ANNE COCHRAN, Chair

Happy New Year to all and as a reminder to treat that active military service men and women and our veterans to a cup of Joe. It will lift their spirits. Here is to a very prosper new year and to know the common good of us all. Our veterans deserve our respect as we respect their dignity. Glasses up all in the air and cheers for a New Year!

ENVIRONMENT - NANCY B. JONES, Chair

The “small but mighty” Friday Club of National City collected change at each meeting and reported that they donated funds for two Penny Pines plantations in 2024. Their donations benefit the Descanso Ranger District of the Cleveland National Forest. The club members consider reforestation of our National Forests a priority for them and their grandchildren. Their Environment chair Connie Vickers shared that “It is important that we continue to support replacing trees in our National Forests because of the many forest fires we have been experiencing and the need to prevent erosion.” Penny Pines is a vital part of restoring and keeping our forests viable. Connie shared: “We all need trees for our spiritual balance” and a Chinese proverb: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.” Thank you for your donations! And Happy New Year one and all!
