FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members and Friends,

The CFWC Area B Conference was held on October 18th at the Chicken Ranch Casino Resort in Jamestown, CA. Area B Vice President Ellen Ansok welcomed attendees before a lite breakfast and the conference opening. Attendees from across Area B engaged in networking opportunities, exchanging ideas about ongoing activities and projects.

Following the official Opening of the conference delivered by Ellen Ansok, the San Joaquin Valley District and Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau representative welcomed attendees.

Cindy Sanders, CFWC 2nd Vice President, was the keynote speaker and encouraged members to do their best “AAARG” in preparation for “Pirate” fun, learning, and activities and sharing new membership initiatives.

Sonja Hults, CFWC Facebook Chairman, delivered a presentation on “Why We Need Social Media”. Members discovered how sharing their personal stories of projects left a lasting impression. When we share stories of our activities and how they impacted the community and those we serve, it leaves a lasting impression. Learning to leverage social media effectively we can connect with

other organizations and amplify our message and get more support for our efforts to help others.

Wittney Hawkins, coordinator at Chicken Ranch Rancheria Me-Wuk Indians of California, shared about the Transitional Age Youth Program (TAY HOUSE).

The Conference concluded after lunch, with participants encouraged to continue their commitment to positive community impact. The camaraderie among members remains an invaluable asset of our Federation.

The final CFWC Area Conference of the year, the CFWC Area C Conference, will be held on October 25th at the Grand in Long Beach, California. Attendance is anticipated to be high, and further participation is encouraged. I am looking forward to attending and hope to see you there.

Yours in Federation and Love,

Sonya
