CHA Expands Opportunity Area Map
The Chicago Housing Authority’s new Mobility Map expands the number of areas in which Housing Choice Vouchers or PRA (project based voucher) contract rents can exceed typical CHA rent ceilings. Learn more about the new Mobility Map from the CHA’s Mobility Area Frequently Asked Questions .
Opportunity Investment Fund Pilot Projects
The new CHA Mobility Map has been incorporated into our Opportunity Investment Fund target area map, and buyers may be eligible to use the Opportunity Investment Fund to purchase properties in these areas.

Apply for the City of Chicago's Alternative Plumbing Materials Pilot
Based on recommendations developed by Preservation Compact partners, the City of Chicago Department of Buildings launched an Alternative Plumbing Materials Pilot program allowing owners to request approval to use cost-saving alternative plumbing materials in their projects. Changes to Chicago Electrical Code Effective March 1, 2018
On September 6, 2017 the Chicago City Council voted to adopt a major update to the Chicago Electrical Code . This update included several commonsense, cost-saving changes advocated by The Preservation Compact. Read more about the implementation of these changes from the Department of Buildings  here .
