Psychiatric Clinic for Developmentally and Neurologically Atypical Adults
CHA has a dedicated clinic (DANAA) for patients with intellectual and developmental disability. This population is often served by DDS and traditionally has difficulty accessing services.
The clinic is run by Debra Rosenblum, MD, and is held at the Central Street Care Center every Wednesday morning.
What to expect?
DANAA provides consults to primary care and behavioral health for patients with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The goal is to improve the experience of care, possibly reduce polypharmacy and improve both behavioral and primary care health outcomes.
Services focus on evaluation of psychiatric medication needs; there is no therapist associated with the clinic at this time.
Referred patients find a welcoming environment and a care team that understands their needs. In addition to consults, the clinic is able to interface with other agencies to relieve stress on caregivers.
How to refer
- From Primary Care: PCPs can refer a patient for psychiatric medication evaluation or a one-time consultation. Please create an order for Adult Outpatient Psychiatry and specify DANAA.
- From Behavioral Health: Behavioral health therapists who would like a consult on a patient with I/DD should use a Service Add order to Adult Psychiatry and specify DANAA.
If you want to know if your patient would benefit, please contact
