From Coffee Memorial: Can we count on your company or organization to host a blood drive? Coffee Memorial needs to draw 100-125 units per day to meet the needs of our service area (Texas and Oklahoma panhandles). About 70% of those units come from mobile blood drives. With businesses working from home, schools doing online classes, rural community centers closed to outside events and churches doing online services, we have very few places to go to collect blood. We have had to get creative and rely on our donor center to collect more. But, the space and staffing at our center can't regularly draw 125 units per day. If you are interested in the possibility of hosting a blood drive, give Dakota a call at 806-331-8855. Visit the Coffee Memorial Blood Center website here.
Small Businesses Have Opportunity to Win Money
If you are a Chamber Member business with fewer than 50 employees, be sure you sign up for the chance to win $1,000 for your business and $500 for one of your customers from Amarillo Matters. They have already named 5 business winners, including White Rabbit Antiques, Groovy Pop Gourmet Popcorn, Real Deals - Amarillo, Makie Black, and Reserve by HRB Designs.

To be eligible for prize money, businesses must be locally-owned, have less than 50 employees, and be a member of one of the local chambers of commerce. Businesses can still sign up to participate at www.amarillomatters.com/shoplocal.

Each Monday, a participating business will be selected at random and awarded $1,000. The following Friday, one of the businesses' customers from the week will be selected at random to receive $500.

Businesses must complete the online form to be eligible.
