The City of Amarillo will be broadcasting live via their website at 1pm on Friday with an update from the council on their round-table discussions from the industry committees. Please tune in to watch the broadcast here.

Below you will also find some new and important updates from the City of Amarillo, Governor's office and Texas Department of State Health Services regarding new guidelines for non-essential businesses for employees, employers and customers.

The City of Amarillo has held a number of round-tables with community leaders and business owners of multiple industries to gather their insight on what a “restart and recovery” should look like for Amarillo. The Amarillo City Council will meet to discuss these round-tables at 1pm on Friday, April 24th. This meeting is available to view through the City’s Facebook Page or via an online live stream through the City of Amarillo's website.

This guidance is based on the best information currently available and will be updated when appropriate. Please visit and for updates. This guidance is intended for employers, employees, and customers of retail businesses reopening under the Governor’s Executive Order issued on April 17, 2020. This guidance does not apply to businesses considered essential.
