This week's email includes information on our next Business After Hours happening on June 10th, one new member to welcome, one recent ribbon cutting to celebrate, and several more to celebrate in the coming weeks. We are also planning for a Chamber Open Golf Tournament in July. Get the TAB Legislative Session Recap, information on an upcoming SBDC Social Media webinar, and a program for Veteran-Owned Businesses on surplus personal property in the section about additional resources and benefits for businesses. Chamber Open Golf Tournament is July 22nd at Tascosa Golf Club
We will soon be networking on the greens at the 22nd Annual Chamber Open Golf Tournament that will happen at the Tascosa Golf Club on Thursday, July 22nd. If you participated in this event in 2020 (yes, this was the only big event we held last year), watch your email in the coming weeks for information on renewing your sponsorship to participate and play this year or contact Denise at 373-7800 or denise@amarillo-chamber.org to commit. Any new teams or sponsorships will be put on a waiting list on a first-come basis.

TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF BUSINESS LEGISLATIVE SESSION RECAP

The Texas Association of Business has put together an initial recap of the legislative session as a resource to our members. Please be on the lookout for a more comprehensive legislative overview in the following weeks. While nearly every TAB priority passed this session, critical pieces of legislation including the extension of Chapter 313 and preemption failed. TAB remains committed to these issues leading up to the special session and during the interim.

SURPLUS PERSONAL PROPERTY FOR VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESS PROGRAMS

Eligible veteran-owned small businesses can apply to receive federal surplus property.

The General Services Administration’s (GSA) Federal Surplus Personal Property Donation Program enables certain non-federal organizations to obtain personal property that the federal government no longer needs. Eligible veteran-owned small businesses can now work with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to access the federally-owned surplus personal property through the donation program.

Are you holding a fundraising event, open house, or other special events you want to share with the public? You can add events to our Online Community Calendar for FREE. Click here to complete the online form and submit it to the Chamber. Your event will not be visible until our staff approves the event, typically within 1-2 business days.

COVID 19 Vaccine Offered Through City of Amarillo
The City of Amarillo Public Health Department is currently administering COVID-19 vaccines. Immunizations will take place at the Amarillo Civic Center Complex (401 S Buchanan St, Amarillo, TX 79101) or through their Mobile Clinic.

Be sure to check the clinic hours, vaccine availability, or the Mobile Clinic location ONLINE before going.
