Members Can Pick Up Free Face Masks at the Chamber

UniFirst Corporation has partnered with the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and donated 10,000 protective face masks for local businesses in need, as part of a company-wide initiative to support the small business community.

If you are a small business in need of masks for your employees, we will be giving away an allotment of masks on Thursday, June 18th at 10am at the Chamber of Commerce. Feel free to stop by Thursday starting at 10am to pick up masks. If you cannot be present at that time and need masks, please contact Denise at the Chamber at 373-7800 or email her at denise@amarillo-chamber.org to reserve some for you to pick up at the Chamber between the hours of 9am - 4pm Monday through Friday. Masks are available on a first-come-first-serve basis while supplies last. Our goal is to be able to share with as many small business Chamber members as possible.

July 23rd at Ross Rogers Golf Complex
We are thrilled to announce that our 21st Annual Chamber Open will be held as planned on Thursday, July 23rd at the Ross Rogers Golf Complex. We have been working with city officials and are staying up to date on any restrictions that may still be in effect so that we can hold this event in the safest manner possible with modifications.

We will be announcing in the coming weeks the schedule, planned activities, and any changes to the traditional scramble format we have used in the past.

We have a limited number of spots available for sponsors and teams to participate in this fun, outdoor networking activity that has grown to be one of the largest one-day charity tournaments in the area. If you are interested in a team or sponsorship opportunities to get more recognition for your business, contact Jason at 342-2018 or Denise at 373-7800. Money Still Available for Small Businesses from Amarillo EDC
We have received several applications for the #AmarilloIsOpen Marketing Partner Initiative, however, we're excited to announce that we still have spots available!

This program allows 200 qualifying businesses to become marketing partners with the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation and receive $5,000 for their efforts. Qualifying businesses will receive marketing materials such as yard signs, posters, and social media graphics that will be displayed during this campaign.

We are still accepting applications for #AmarilloIsOpen, please read all of the qualifying factors that must be met to gain acceptance into this program. The first 200 qualifying businesses will be accepted into the program, on a first come, first serve basis. You must fill out the application and email it to info@amarilloedc.com, the time stamp on your email will hold your place in the application process.

Business After Hours at Will Rogers Range Riders Rodeo Arena

We've missed networking as much as all of you. Although we are still doing our best to maintain proper safety precautions, we want to share with you our first "unofficial" Business After Hours to take place since the pandemic started in March. The Will Rogers Range Riders were on our schedule for months to do an After Hours event as a kick-off and preview to their annual rodeo that will take place July 2-4. We will be sharing more information about this event in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. Small Businesses Still Have Opportunity to Win Money
If you are a Chamber Member business with fewer than 50 employees, be sure you sign up for the chance to win $1,000 for your business and $500 for one of your customers from Amarillo Matters. They have already named 11 business winners, including White Rabbit Antiques, Groovy Pop Gourmet Popcorn, Real Deals - Amarillo, Makie Black, Reserve by HRB Designs, Little Bees Playhouse, Palace Coffee, Snapology of Amarillo, Golden Spread Roofing, Cadence's Canine Creations and The Urban Giraffe.

To be eligible for prize money, businesses must be locally-owned, have less than 50 employees, and be a member of one of the local chambers of commerce. Businesses can still sign up to participate at www.amarillomatters.com/shoplocal.

Each Monday, a participating business will be selected at random and awarded $1,000. The following Friday, one of the businesses' customers from the week will be selected at random to receive $500.

Businesses must complete the online form to be eligible.

Wonderland Opens Friday, June 19th
Wonderland Amusement Park is excited to announce it will be opening its gates THIS FRIDAY, June 19th at 5pm, officially kicking off its 69th Season in business!

The Park is following CDC guidelines to ensure everyone has a fun and safe visit, including providing hand sanitizer at gates, kiosks and food stands and placing brightly colored stickers throughout the Park to assist with social distancing. Wonderland employees will also be wearing masks and frequently sanitizing rides. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks but are not required to do so. More information on Covid-19 guidelines can be found at WonderlandPark.com/covid-guidelines.

Wonderland anticipates finally showing off two new rides in the West End that are sure to WOW visitors of all ages! So, make sure you check out the Spin-o-Saurus Roller Coaster and the Old Tymers Car ride!
