We are also thrilled to welcome 3 new members, share pictures from 2 ribbons we cut last week, and highlight one of our official Chamber advertising partners. See what's coming up in the next couple of weeks, and mark your calendar for our next FREE networking event happening July 8th at First United Bank. You can get information on all of this and more below.
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and add new information and resources to our COVID Resource Page on our website that may be important to our members.
On behalf of our staff, Board of Directors, and the Amarillo business community, we want to thank you for your continued support of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, and we look forward to serving you now and in the future. Please let us know what we can do to help your business.

Volunteers Helping Us Building a Bigger Chamber This Week
|
|
We've been teasing about this event for a few weeks now, but it's finally here. Our entire staff will be out of the Chamber building through Thursday this week for this huge Member Mania event. Beginning Tuesday morning, we will have nearly 250 volunteers splitting time over the next 3 days for our Membership Building Event.
This marks the second time since 2018 the Chamber has partnered with Your Chamber Connection (YCC) to bring together new ambassadors for the Chamber to help us build our membership base. Volunteers will spend nearly an hour learning about the Chamber and why it is important to get all businesses to understand the important role the Chamber plays in the business community, and then 2 hours calling on their network of businesses to get them to commit and support the Chamber through membership. It's fun, fast-paced, and resulted in more than 500 new members joining the Chamber during the event in 2018.
One of the most important roles the Chamber has is as an advocate for businesses, large and small, on a city, state, and national level. We know there is strength in numbers, and growth gives us a louder voice when we work together on issues such as healthcare, education, quality of life, technology, employment, transportation, agriculture, and more. Yes, we have a lot of fun networking events and opportunities for you to grow your business by getting involved, but supporting the Chamber is so much more than just our events. We also provide resources and information that may benefit your business, your business is promoted through our directories, we provide seminars, webinars, and training at little to no cost to members, celebrate with members, provide relocation information, certificates of origin, and field a lot phone calls for information on our city and our members. If you are reading this, your business is already a member of the Chamber, but just in case you didn't know what all your membership dollars help us do, it's all of this and more.
We can't wait to get to know the new members that will join us this week, and we want to thank ALL of our volunteers in advance for committing to their Team Captains and Chairs to help us be successful and share the message and mission of the Chamber with their friends, colleagues, and people they do business with. There are no prizes to be won for signing up the most members, but there are some really cool bragging rights, a huge thanks from us, and the pride of knowing you were part of strengthening our business community. If you are wondering why we called this event Member Mania, it's because we're going to the mat for business. This is a serious event for what it means and represents, but it's also going to be a lot of fun. Tune into the Amarillo Chamber Facebook page Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, because we will be broadcasting some live feeds of all the action...and you'll get to see our whole team in costume to help motivate the crowd. It should be a hoot.
Because we will be working outside of the Chamber Building through Thursday, if you have an urgent need, please leave us a voicemail or send us an email and someone will get back to you as quickly as we can. If you know a business that isn't a member of the Chamber, you can help your favorite volunteer with a referral or send Ashley an email so she can follow up next week. Stay tuned, we hope to have lots of photos and new members to share in the coming weeks.
