All of the Show Your Pride photo shoots held this year culminated in one great launch celebration this month! Attendees were able to revisit their Show Your Pride photo and see pictures of many others their fellow LGBTQ+ community supporters. Show Your Pride photos will be showcased on more than 180 digital kiosks across the city during Pride Month, in partnership with IKE Smart City, shown on the north side of Shell Energy Stadium, courtesy of the Houston Dynamo FC and Houston Dash, and displayed at a special exhibit during the Chamber's premier event Pride In Business. | |

President Biden issued a disaster declaration which will enable assistance including grants for low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster. Also, the Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience at the U.S. Small Business Administration announced the openings of two Business Recovery Centers located at the University of Houston – Downtown, Marilyn Davies College of Business and at Trini Mendenhall Community Center. Applications opened for the The National LGBT Chamber of Commerce Community Impact Grant Program, in partnership with the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber and supported by Grubhub. The grants, ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, will provide vital assistance for LGBTQ+ and Allied restaurants, cafes, bar serving food, and other eating establishments. Eligible businesses can apply now through June 16, 2024. | |

The application deadline for Comcast RISE business support grants is this Friday, May 31st. The grant program will provide a total of $500,000 in grants plus technology make-overs, marketing support, coaching and education resources. We were excited to take part in the Out For Education Scholarship Award Ceremony, and to spend time with the 2024 Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce Scholarship award recipients! Out for Education provides scholarships to LGBTQIA+ youth from the Houston area or attending college or universities in Houston. |
