School Mascot Creates Summertime Fun to Support the Shop Local Movement

NEW EVENT — Where’s the Mason Bulldog? In Mason, MI of course! The adorable plush Mason Public School’s Mascot in the bright blue t-shirt is visiting thirty local Mason Area Chamber of Commerce members throughout our community July 1st –31st. Find the Mason Bulldog Locally is a great summer vacation activity and a wonderful way to support local businesses and the Shop Local movement. Look high, look low—Find the Mason Bulldog Locally in July!

The Mason Area Chamber of Commerce, 148 E Ash St is your location for the first stop to pick up a “Find the Mason Bulldog!” passport, which contains the names of all the participating member businesses. Anyone can participate and get their passport stamped or signed for each Bulldog they spot. Collecting store stamps or signatures at fifteen or more businesses will entitle diligent seekers an entry into a drawing for their very own plush Mason Bulldog on August 2, 2021. Return your eligible passport with your contact information to The Mason Area Chamber of Commerce by the end of the day 7/31/202 to be entered into the free drawing.

Mason Area Chamber of Commerce Independence Day Parade

Mason Area Chamber of Commerce To Host Independence Day Parade

The Independence Day Parade is scheduled to happen in Mason, MI on Sunday, July 4th. Come celebrate the country's independence downtown Mason, MI otherwise known as Hometown USA. The parade features local business, groups and organizations and is always a crowd pleaser. The parade will step-off at 7:30PM.
This event is generously presented by TRUE Community Credit Union. We would also like to thank the City of MasonIngham County Facilities and the Mason Fire Department for their partnership with this event. 
Interested in participating as a float, vehicle, or walker? You will still need to check in at the MACC booth in the staging area (Mason High School SOUTH lot) to receive your parade number at 6PM. There is no charge to participate and pre-registration is not required. BY POLICE ORDER: No throwing of candy or other items from parade units is permitted. Walkers only may walk to sidelines and hand candy, etc. to spectators. NO GETTING ON OR OFF UNITS during the parade. The city and chamber are not liable for any police citations or injuries resulting from violation of this directive.
ARE YOU READY TO GOLF?

Registration for our MACC 48th Annual Golf Classic is OPEN! This includes 18 holes of golf with cart, continental breakfast, lunch at-the-turn, golfer's "goodie bag", beer and wine on the course, pop and water, and door prizes. There will not be a banquet. The event is $75 per golfer. Your registration will contribute to the Chamber's fund balance allowing us to continue bringing free public events such as our Thursday Night Live Concert Series, Independence Day Parade, Holidays Light Parade, and Small Business Saturday "Cocoa on the Corner" to downtown Mason.

CHAMBER OFFICE – NOW OPEN: Starting Tuesday, May 15th, The Mason Area Chamber of Commerce office will be open from 9:00am to 2:00pm Tuesday thru Friday each week. Other times are available by appointment. Call the office at 517-676-1046 if you need to schedule an appointment.

48th ANNUAL CHAMBER GOLF CLASSIC: The date is set for Thursday, July 22nd and plans are underway for an outstanding event with sincere thanks to our Eagle Sponsor, Oracle Financial Solutions. MACC has numerous opportunities for a variety of sponsorships and raffle contributions. This is an excellent opportunity for you to get your name out to the community. NOW HIRING: Are you (or someone you know) seeking a part-time position?? Join our team!! The MACC has a position open in our office; 20 hours per week; Tuesday thru Friday; 9:00am to 2:00pm. You will work with great people in the office and in the community – plus be a part of many of the events going on in our town!!

MACC RIBBON CUTTING

Congratulations to the Kiwanis Club of Mason on the beautiful remodel of the Kiwanis Clubhouse! On Tuesday, June 8th it was a beautiful day for a ribbon cutting to celebrate with Kiwanis members, chamber Ambassadors, and MACC directors.

The Mason Lions Club recently approved a donation of $500 to the Mason Promise Scholarship fund. Club secretary Doug Klein presented their check to Mason Promise board president Melissa Oesterle at the Mason Promise’s June BBQ Sandwich fundraiser at Darrell’s Market. The Mason Lions Club does fundraising events of various types throughout the year to provide the money for several scholarships in the Mason area. They are proud to support the long-running Mason Promise Scholarship program. The program allows a select number of Mason High School graduates to attend Lansing Community College each year.
