The Army National Guard is a part-time state-based military component that serves a dual mission. Each Guard unit serves under the command of its state governor to respond to natural disasters or other state emergencies. In addition, Guard units can be activated to defend the nation when needed.

2026 Citizen of the Year Nominations

We understand that everyone is thinking about the holidays just around the corner.

It's a busy and wonderful time of year.

During this season, we are reminded of the amazing individuals in our community who dedicate themselves to helping others. They tirelessly serve those less fortunate by volunteering for local organizations, not only during Christmas but throughout the year. Whether it's assisting the homeless, feeding families, or raising funds to support those in need, these individuals exemplify compassion and selflessness.

They are truly deserving of your nomination for the Citizen of the Year Award.

We need your help to identify one outstanding woman and one outstanding man to receive this prestigious honor. After the holiday season, we hope you will have someone in mind to nominate.

Highlights from the Christmas Parade

The Annual Santa Run was a tremendous success this year, continuing to grow in popularity over time. Many people may not realize that the participants are raising funds for Holiday Depot, an organization dedicated to assisting families in need during Christmas. Holiday Depot provides gifts, food, basic hygiene products, and much more. 

Kudos to all the Santa riders and elves who take part in this event each year, braving the cold weather for a great cause!
