Curbside Pickup
Frequently Asked Questions

When can I receive curbside pickup?
The library is currently offering curbside pickup services between the hours of 12pm-7pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 12pm-5pm on Fridays, and 12pm-4pm on Saturdays.

Where will my holds be when I come to pick them up?
Bags will be on a table just inside the parking lot side building entrance area. Find your bag labeled with your hold pickup number (this is the last four digits of your library card barcode). If you have lost your card, please let staff know when we call to arrange your pickup. Grab your bag and enjoy!

Do I have to wear a mask when picking up my items?
Yes please! This is in keeping with the state mandate and safety guidelines. Since our curbside pickup area is small, we ask that you please observe proper distancing protocols and stay outside/in your vehicle if you see someone in the holds pickup area when you come to pick up your holds.

How will I know my hold items are ready for pickup?
You will receive a phone notification. To support social distancing efforts, we are operating with limited staff. Wait times for holds may be longer than usual. Thanks for your patience!

How do I return materials?
Items can be placed in the book drop on the side of the building. Please note that our safety measures require staff to quarantine returned materials for their own, and your safety. This means there will be a delay between when you actually physically place your items in the book drop and when your items will be removed from your account in the computer system. Please be assured that you will NOT receive fines on any items due to quarantine times, which will be factored in to any check in time.

Do I need a library card?
Yes, patrons must hold a WAGGIN library card to use curbside pickup. If you do not have a regular library card, you can create one online, or call the library. Our staff will place your new library card in the bag with your materials.

Can I come into the library to browse and pick out items in person?
Unfortunately we are not permitted to allow anyone other than staff entry into the building at this time. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

What if I have mobility issues and cannot leave my vehicle?
If you have mobility issues, we can provide an accommodation such as placing bagged items in the trunk of your vehicle. Please request this when you arrange your pickup time.

What materials are available for pickup?
All physical materials currently on the shelf are available, including books, DVDs, etc.

Can you look for specific items or provide reading suggestions?
Yes we can! Call or email us for reading suggestions!

What if I have fines or I’m over the checkout limit?
Library staff can override fine restrictions and checkout limits during the pandemic response. Since we do not currently have the ability to collect fines in a contactless manner, we ask that patrons hold any payments until we are able to accept in person payments again.

Can I place a hold via telephone?
Yes, we'd love to hear from you! Please call 724-745-4300 for assistance.

Can I send documents to be printed and picked up via curbside?
Yes! Call or email the library to arrange for print pickups 724-745-4300 or chcommunitylibrary@gmail.com.
