A WOMAN BECAME A GREEN BERET THURSDAY, A HUGE MILESTONE FOR THE ARMY AND THE MILITARY, BUT SHE ISN'T THE FIRST FEMALE TO EARN THE TITLE- The first woman to complete the Army’s Special Forces Qualification Course and move on to a Green Beret team graduated today, according to U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
VA BUDGET PASSES HOUSE PANEL- Veterans Affairs programs would see a hefty funding boost in fiscal 2021 under plans advanced by House appropriators on Monday, continuing the trend in recent years of increased money for the department despite modest growth or cuts for other federal agencies.

AIR FORCE ANNOUNCES FIRST CHANGES FROM DIVERSITY TASK FORCE- The Air Force has launched a task force to look for, and change, policies or procedures unfairly hurting minorities or other underrepresented airmen.

US GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN TO REDUCE HIGH SUICIDE RATES, PARTICULARLY AMONG VETERANS- The federal government launched a broad national campaign Tuesday aimed at reducing high suicide rates, urging the public to reach out to others, especially during the coronavirus pandemic, and acknowledge daily stresses in people’s lives.

TULANE UNIVERSITY RECEIVES $12.5 MILLION GRANT TO TREAT BRAIN INJURIES AND PTSD IN VETERANS- Tulane University received a $12.5 million grant for the creation of a new Center for Brain Health, which will focus on treating brain injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder in military veterans.
