Today, in partnership with the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), CHFA is pleased to introduce a dedicated website for the Colorado Affordable Housing Financing Fund (AHFF).

About the Affordable Housing Financing Fund (AHFF)

In November 2022, Colorado voters passed Proposition 123, a ballot measure authorizing the state to retain money from existing state tax revenue to support affordable housing investment. These funds are split 60/40 between the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) and the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) through its Division of Housing (DOH), respectively.

OEDIT manages the Affordable Housing Financing Fund, in partnership with Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA), which serves as Contract Administrator. DOH manages the Affordable Housing Support Fund.

The new website is dedicated to the Affordable Housing Financing Fund, which has priorities to supports land banking, equity, and debt investment to advance affordable housing across the state.

Land Banking Program Launch

The first AHFF component to launch is the Land Banking program. Details on two upcoming webinars on the Land Banking program launch are included below. Please note: the content of these webinars is the same; please choose the one that is most convenient for you.

Program Details

The Land Banking program is a component of the Colorado Affordable Housing Financing Fund established by Proposition 123 and provides grants to eligible local or tribal governments and forgivable loans to eligible nonprofits with a demonstrated history of providing affordable housing.

Funds must be used to acquire and preserve land for affordable rental housing or affordable homeownership. Mixed use may be allowed so long as the predominate use is affordable housing.
