In 2025, CHFA invested $2.9 billion to advance homeownership, affordable rental housing, business lending, and community partnerships across the state.
These investments helped:
- 5,491 households achieve homeownership, supported by $2.0 billion in first mortgage loans and $86 million in down payment assistance.
- 8,722 individuals attend a CHFA sponsored homebuyer education class.
- 5,732 affordable rental housing units be developed or preserved, supported by $555 million in total loan production and awards of federal and state Housing Tax Credits.
- 475 businesses and nonprofits access capital, with more than $122 million invested through CHFA’s business lending programs, supporting 2,814 jobs statewide.
- 673 community organizations receive grants, sponsorships, and technical assistance with CHFA investing $8 million in total giving.

CHFA’s Board serves as its governing body and is tasked with supporting CHFA’s mission to strengthen Colorado by investing in affordable housing and community development. More information about Melinda and Willa is available on the CHFA website. | | 2026 housing credit summit registration deadline | Tickets are still available for the 2026 Housing Credit Summit, and registrations will be accepted through Friday, January 30th. The Summit will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd, at Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Join CHFA to learn more about expansions to state and federal Housing Tax Credits, discuss recent program changes, and celebrate the 40th anniversary of the federal Housing Tax Credit’s creation. The event will include a keynote address from Michael Novogradac. | | | | | small-scale housing technical assistance pre-application deadline | The pre-application deadline for projects applying for CHFA’s Small-scale Housing Technical Assistance Program in 2026 Round One is Friday, February 13th. Potential small-scale projects, of 25 units or less, may apply for affordable housing planning and development technical assistance (TA) services and pre-development grants to further their work. The deadline for Round Two is June 26th. Additional details are available on the CHFA website. | | new markets tax credits awarded to cgr fund | In December, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced that the Colorado Growth and Revitalization Fund (CGR Fund), for which CHFA is the managing member, received $90 million in New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs) to support community development and revitalization.
