CHFA welcomes Tegan Ebbert and Kris Valdez as the newest Community Relationship Managers (CRMs) serving the Western Slope and Mountain Regions. Tegan will work to advance CHFA’s affordable housing and economic development mission in Delta, Garfield, Jackson, Mesa, Moffatt, Rio Blanco, and Routt counties, while Kris will advance this work in Chaffee, Clear Creek, Eagle, Grand, Lake, Park, Pitkin, and Summit counties.

passport to homeownership event to be held august 22nd

CHFA will host the Own Your Tomorrow: Passport to Homeownership event on Saturday, August 22nd, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Center for African American Health in Denver. The event will feature interactive educational stations with industry professionals supporting prospective homebuyers with the knowledge they need to learn how to build a homebuying team, including housing counselors, lenders, real estate professionals, and CHFA staff. Refreshments and entertainment for the whole family will also be provided. Details and registration information for Passport to Homeownership are available on the CHFA website

middle-income housing tax credits awarded

CHFA has awarded $2,890,000 in Middle-income Housing Tax Credits (MIHTC) to Lumberyard Apartments in Aspen. Developed by Gorman & Company, LLC, Lumberyard Apartments will consist of 118 affordable middle-income rental units within a 173-unit development. MIHTC is a state Housing Tax Credit authorized by the Colorado General Assembly and allocated by CHFA. The program–the first of its kind in the nation–supports the development of affordable rental housing serving residents with middle income, earning between 80 percent and 120 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI), and up to 140 percent AMI in rural resort counties.

colorado is home sweepstakes winner announced

To celebrate National Homeownership Month in June, CHFA invited CHFA home mortgage customers to describe why owning a home in Colorado is important to them and what makes their home unique, along with submitting a photo of them and their home. CHFA received 149 entries for the Colorado is Home sweepstakes and randomly selected one winning entry to receive a $1,000 Visa gift card. Cheryl, a CHFA homeowner in Grand Junction, was announced as the winning entry.

“Colorado's natural beauty, strong sense of community, and outdoor lifestyle make it a special place to call home,” Cheryl wrote in her entry. “My home is more than just a house—it's where memories are made, milestones are celebrated, and family and friends gather together.” Congratulations, Cheryl!
