chfa celebrates homeownership month at juneteenth events
As homeownership month continues, CHFA has been sponsoring and attending various homeownership events in honor of Juneteenth. On Friday, June 14th, CHFA Business Development Specialist Greg Brown presented at a Juneteenth homebuyer event as part of Cleo Parker Robinson Dance’s Juneteenth celebration. Participants learned about the steps to take to help prepare financially for future homeownership.
On June 15th and 16th, CHFA sponsored and hosted booths at the Denver Juneteenth Festival and the Southern Colorado Juneteenth Festival in Colorado Springs. The Denver Juneteenth Festival featured free live music and “Denver’s longest-running parade,” a neighborhood Juneteenth tradition dating back to the 1950s. The Southern Colorado Juneteenth Festival, which took place at America the Beautiful Park, honors the history of Juneteenth while celebrating inclusion, cultural diversity, and community unity. CHFA was proud to join the community in honor of Juneteenth.

rent reporting for credit pilot ends, final report sent to colorado general assembly
The Rent Reporting for Credit Pilot Program, which CHFA has administered since October 2021, concluded on April 1, 2024. This program, created by the Colorado General Assembly, aimed to help renters build credit by reporting timely rent payments to consumer reporting agencies. The program enrolled 443 tenants across 33 properties throughout Colorado. Tenants participating saw an average credit score increase of 62 points during the pilot period.
Pursuant to statute, CHFA recently submitted the final report summarizing program outcomes to the Colorado General Assembly. In addition, the report highlights recognition earned by the program including its feature by Urban Institute, and receipt of a 2024 Eagle Award from Housing Colorado.

2024 david w. herlinger golf tournament
On August 13th, CHFA will host its annual golf tournament at Arrowhead Golf Club in Littleton. The tournament is named to posthumously honor CHFA’s former Executive Director and is an ongoing tribute to his years of dedication and passion for our mission.
Every year, CHFA’s golf tournament raises funds to support nonprofits whose work aligns with CHFA's mission of investing in affordable housing and community development. The 2024 event will support NEWSED Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit organization supporting community development to underserved populations in Colorado by providing navigation for housing services, nurturing small businesses, and promoting asset creation.
