Message from
CHHA National Executive Director
Greetings!

2023 has kicked off to a great start at the National Office with several programs from 2022 working through to a successful completion and new and exciting ones just beginning to be launched.

As we move through the last year of our current strategic plan, focused on creating a more efficient and results-oriented operating structure, diversifying our resources and revenue streams, and expanding our reach and engagement, we are inspired by the progress we have made, and, even more so, by the tremendous number of opportunities that lie ahead. In particular, we are excited about the several new partnerships and expanding collaborations that we are building with post secondary institutions, government departments and private sector businesses to bring more resources to better serve our members and to generate a greater impact for the hard of hearing community across Canada.

“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” -Henry Ford

Sincerely,

Richard Plummer

Auris Loops has a proven track record of having installed over 100 hearing loops in the Okanagan (with Salmon Arm being the most densely looped area in Canada). This installation was a major job that required multiple meetings, liaison and preparation with church leadership and church technical managers...

How are You Recognizing World Hearing Day?
World Hearing Day 2023 on March 3rd will highlight the importance of integrating ear and hearing care within primary care, as an essential component of universal health coverage

According to the World Health Organization:

  • Ear and hearing problems are among the most common problems encountered in the community.
  • Over 60% of these can be identified and addressed at the primary level of care.
  • Integration of ear and hearing care into primary care services is possible through training and capacity building at this level.
  • Such integration will benefit people and help countries move towards the goal of universal health coverage.

How will you be recognizing this day? Please send events and activities to info@chha.ca.
