The CHIA Board of Directors is hosting an open Town Hall webinar on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 to discuss the upcoming AHIMA House of Delegates (HOD) and the Action Forum topics that will be addressed. The AHIMA HOD is being held on Saturday, September 15, 2019 in Chicago and the CHIA Delegates to AHIMA will be in attendance to represent and support the CHIA membership. 

The identified Action Forum topics include: 
  • Thought Leadership/Environmental Scanning: Using the updated AHIMA Strategy as a baseline, Delegates are asked to take a deeper dive into priority areas of impact for our health information profession. 
  • Health Information Professional Champions: Address advocating for health information professionals to keep at the forefront of the industry and reference existing HIM Awareness and HIM Reimagined resources to redefine HIM as champions in transforming health and healthcare. 
  • House Action Items: Comprehensive review of the proposed bylaws amendment and Regional Delegate Liaison communication model, their impact and desired outcomes.
  • Best Practices for Engagement, Communication and Process: Share experiences and lessons learned on highly functioning Boards, communication methods, and policies and procedures that help build strong volunteer leaders.
