Greater Milford Community Health Network : CHNA 6

In keeping with the recommendations of the 2015 Community Health Improvement Plan, CHNA 6 is pleased to be able to award grants this year that target our four priority areas: Chronic Disease and Health Promotion, Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse, Violence Prevention and Access.  After reviewing 21 applications from our partner organizations, the CHNA 6 Steering Committee is very excited to offer funding to 10 projects at $247,277.23 for our second year grant cycle. We would like to congratulate the following grant awardees:

  4. Riverside Community Care
  5. Edward M. Community Health Center
  6. Hockomock Area YMCA 
  7. Kennedy-Donovan Center
  8. Town of Milford Ruth Ann Bleakney Senior Center 
  9. Milford Youth Center
  10. Hockomock Area YMCA

he n ext CHNA 6 meeting will be Friday, May 19, 2017 from 9-11am at the Ruth Anne Bleakney Senior Center, located at 60 N. Bow St., Milford, MA 01757. The meeting will include a presentation on "Immigration to include:
  • Ellen VanSoyoc, Immigration Supervisor at Central West Justice Center

If you have any specific questions that you would like to be addressed during the presentation on "Immigration" please email coordinator@chna6.org

There will also be an additional presentation on one of our 2016 mini-grant recipients, the Milford Youth Center's "MYC Health Coordinator. "

Kennedy Community Health Center, Martin Cohen, President and CEO of MetroWest Health Foundation and Lisa Hanson & Barbara Mangano of Hopedale Memorial Elementary School. Although the mission of CHNA 6 looks to help facilitate the connection of resources and networking among its members, the Steering Committee would like to request that the CHNA 6 email distribution list be used only for one-to-one networking. For any future mass distribution of events and/or resources please send to coordinator@chna6.org

On behalf of the Steering Committee, we would like to wish Fr. Mac Murray good luck and safe travels as he embarks on his 2-month long sabbatical. Fr. Mac will be missed for all that he does for the community and as Chair of CHNA 6, but we are happy for him and the spiritual journey that he is about to begin! 

Rebecca Donham, Senior Program Officer for the MetroWest Health Foundation and CHNA 6 Co-Chair will be taking on Fr. Mac's duties in his absence. Rebecca can be reached at: co.chair@chna6.org
