We’ve already won the war of ideas.
Here are the ones we're leading conversations with now:
We believe in abortion rights.
We believe in commonsense gun safety laws.
We believe in democracy.
And so do the majority of Americans, across party lines.
Now we have to win the war of engagement.
We do this by letting people know we believe what they believe.
By showing them we need to vote ourselves out of this mess.
By turning their voice into a vote.
This is how we register more Democrats, by phone, by text, by postcard, by social storm, and in person. We talk to strangers. We let each one know that the democracy needs to be saved, and they’re just the one for the job!
And this is how we, as a country, choose community over chaos.
This is the most important and urgent work there is. Democracy is not a spectator sport. It requires the active participation of the demos: the people. So every time you help someone register to vote, you are breathing life into this democracy.

LA IN-PERSON EVENT AND AUCTION (FOR ANYONE!)
The old-timers in Field Team 6 often reminisce about an in-person Echo Park fundraiser with bands, tacos and beer. The event has achieved legendary status, even though there are whispers it never really happened.
Well, not only did it happen, but it's back! That's right, for the second time ever, come eat tacos, enjoy music and each other's vaxxed visages, clink beers and bid on silent auction items that may make you hungry, or just make you laugh.
The in-person event is in Echo Park on Saturday, July 23 from 6-9p PT. So get ready to fight for abortion rights, and get your tickets HERE. Find the auction HERE, whether you can make it or not! Some things, like high tea with Jason, require being in LA, but many don't!

TEXTBANKING SUCCESS SURPASSES SUPPOSITIONS
Textbanking is one of our most powerful weapons to register Democratic voters and take down the GOP. A snapshot of two states tells the story.
Last week alone, we sent 33,663 texts to unregistered likely Democrats in Arizona and 57,154 texts to Floridians. All the texts were pro-abortion rights messages, and we sent them exclusively to women in these states. In AZ we had the herculean help of our Text Arcaders, and in FL we partnered with Next Steps Florida! That's exactly the kind of "all hands on deck" effort we'll need to replicate every week we possibly can between now and November to ensure we can save the Senate, the House, and democracy itself. TUESDAY JULY 12: SLACK WATCH PARTY FOR THE NEXT 1/6 HEARING
Shout it from the rooftops: the hearings are working! New polls are finding huge surges in support, across party lines, for holding accountable those responsible for the criminal conspiracy that culminated in an attack on our country. Testimony has been riveting and revealing. The hits keep coming!
Wish the hearings were broadcast when you could actually watch them? Field Team 6 has the solution. Join us for our Slack Watch Party of the seventh hearing, Tuesday, July 12, conveniently re-streamed at 5p PT.
The first six hearings were absolutely damning, showing that Trump and his Republican cronies planned the insurrection, promoted it, and paid for it. These facts are (sadly) unsurprising, but seeing them unveiled can be rough… unless you watch with a group of like-minded progressives so you can joke, cry, and talk your way through it. Hence…the Slack watch party!

FRIDAY, JULY 15: ENTER THE ARCADE!
Field Team 6 has no shortage of contact information for millions of eligible, likely Democrats. What we DON'T have are the funds to text them all. Which is a big ol' problem 'cause texting is one of our best outreach tools. And there's always huge volunteer demand to do it. So the only obstacle is cashola.
The solution? Text Arcades!
It's is a super-fast text bank that costs $25 a ticket. And here's why that's a game-changer — 100% of your ticket price goes to funding this textbank. In fact, we're subsidizing the costs of texting to keep the ticket price reasonable, so shout-out to our other donors who are helping defray costs as well!
Text Arcades allow us to reach far more people and register far more Democrats. And we cap attendance to make sure everyone has enough texts to send – so get your ticket before it sells out! It ain't easy to stay positive and focused in the face of all the constant bad news. But there's a solution! Join Field Team 6 multi-hyphenate Czar (Postcarding, Mobilize, Zoom, Newsletter) Sharon Lord Greenspan and Field Team 6 super activist Cathy O'Krent for their awesome workshop, Jumpstart for the Weary Activist — Tips for Joyful, Sustainable Activism. They'll discuss strategies for remaining positive and active in the face of political adversity, and the general chaos we face every day. Get the tools you need to get back to full strength, so you can get back out there and kick some a$$ from a place of joy. This week, the Rainbow of Volunteer Appreciation is leading us to a golden volunteer, Paola, a daughter of Peruvian immigrants who's working to help register U.S. voters and make the world a little better.
She also happens to be a tenth grader who's enrolled at a middle college. One of her favorite quotes: "There's no appropriate age to make a difference in the world."
Her activism all started with a street fair near her house. She saw a sign-up for a youth internship, and she was off and running. Paola is fueled by an ardent dislike of some Republicans and a desire to advocate for youth and those who can't vote. "I can't stand the thought of Republicans in power wanting to control anyone's rights."
So she volunteers by doing phone banks and acting as a youth intern leader, recruiting and leading high schoolers to volunteer with Field Team 6. Plus, she's our new Spanish Language Coordinator, overseeing efforts to get even more of our materials, social posts, and outreach into Spanish.
Paola's also involved with the LA school system as a member of two student advisory councils. Plus, she's member of TTAC (Tech Trek Alumni Committee) as a Co-Social Media Coordinator, helping girls pursue careers in STEM.
She does a lot of volunteer work for a tenth grader because she says, "I want to continue to spread the word and inform people about why it is dangerous for the GOP to be in positions of power!" Paola is also passionate about social justice and climate change.
"My dad is a Democrat but refuses to register to vote. Let's just say his inbox is full of Voterizer links (from me, of course)."
Paolo, you're an incredible leader, and we are lucky to have you on our team! We salute your dedication and gusto, and hope you inspire others of all ages to get involved.

HATCH YOUR OWN
FIELD TEAM 6 CHAPTER*!
As the midterms loom, there’s no better time to assemble your peeps into a new Field Team 6 chapter, come up with a name for it, and lead them to register Democrats! ("Chapter" sound daunting? Call it a club, a justice league, a brunch bunch. If you and someone else are in it, it works for us! It's like the carpool lane!)
Your chapter can work in-person or virtually. It can draw from a geographic base (e.g. FT6 Five Points Atlanta)... an ethnic group (FT6 Chinese-Americans for Democracy)... or even an alumni pool (FT6 Notre Dame Fighting Democrats). Your community can be tiny at first. As long as you’re engaging and registering people, you’re making a difference!
Field Team 6 makes it easy-peasy to get going. We can help you create a Slack channel to communicate with your chapter members. We have a calendar of events you can join.
