But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9)
Do you remember when you were in school and your classmates had to choose who would be on their teams for a special project or for a sport in your gym class? Were you the first one chosen, or were you the last one standing alone because no one chose you?
We are not in high school, but people still choose us or not chose us for their teams based on who we are or what we have to offer.
Long ago and even now, people try to choose the best, the cream of the crop, the smartest, the most popular, the most attractive, and the ones they think will help them win.
Whether you were chosen by your classmates first, last, or if you were left standing because no one wanted you on their team, know that God chose you before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4).
Even when we are not chosen by people, God knows exactly who we are and what we can become, and He still chooses us even with our faults and shortcomings.
