CHP Dental Services Celebrates Children’s Dental Health Month With Busy Bee Preschool
“It is our priority to build optimal dental health in our community. Visiting places like Busy Bee Preschool is a step to reach this goal. As a provider, I always find pleasure and enrichment doing community work, especially working with children. Not only do I bring the dental field to their world, but also help them to understand that to coming to the dentist can be fun. Children are always open-minded and ready to explore; it is surprising to find when working with children how much they know about healthy habits. We should be working hard with them to improve their understanding of the importance of self-care and healthy life style. Community work and visits like this one, reassure these thoughts and create a connection between dentist and little patients.”

Day of Caring at Family Services
For International Women's Day, Greylock Federal Credit Union staff spent March 14 helping to spiff up the CHP Family Services building in Great Barrington. Volunteers reorganized the clothing donation area and created outside food donation bins. Thank you, Greylock friends!
These wonderful women transformed the clothing exchange and food pantry from disorganized and disheveled to two beautifully organized spaces. The remarks from families are all positive with “ooh’s and aah’s”. These simple changes have made such a huge impact to families and staff. CHP Family Services is so very thankful.”

“I couldn't have asked for a better experience with the staff at Fairview Mother and Baby Unit and Lisa Fraine. They all made what could have been a very scary experience, smooth and calm and their teamwork was incredible! I'm so glad Lisa was the one to deliver our baby.”

Ask the Nurse
Susan Greenberg-Yarmush, certified nurse-midwife (CNM) with CHP Barrington OB-GYN, had a radio conversation on the WSBS 860-AM program “Ask the Nurse,” with host Cynthia Henry, herself a retired CNM.
Two CHP Family Services/WIC staff members recently attended a training on “Trauma, Suicide & Addiction in the Berkshires” thanks to funding from the Jane Cannon Smith Education Fund . Cynthia Segui, LICSW and Paloma Suarez, MPH, CLC participated in this conference aiming to build a network of professionals supporting local families facing crisis. The fund provides professional development opportunities to CHP staff. This conference was extremely poignant as Jane Cannon Smith spent her life working with families facing just these struggles and thus continuing Jane’s spirit of caring for our community. Thank you, JCSEF!
